DA-RFO XI Regional Technical Director Visits RCIC, Strengthens Support for Coffee Industry Development

The Regional Coffee Innovation Center (RCIC) of Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) welcomed Marie Ann M. Constantino, Regional Technical Director for Operations of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office XI (DA-RFO XI), during her visit to the institution’s Coffee Museum and RCIC facilities on June 18, 2026.

The visit formed part of the Department of Agriculture’s continuing efforts to strengthen partnerships with academic and research institutions supporting the development of the coffee industry in the Davao Region. Through the tour, Director Constantino was introduced to the various initiatives, technologies, and programs being implemented by DSSC and the Regional Coffee Innovation Center to advance research, innovation, and value-adding activities within the coffee sector.

During the visit, RCIC personnel presented the center’s programs and services that support coffee farmers, cooperatives, and industry stakeholders. Discussions highlighted ongoing efforts in promoting sustainable production practices, enhancing coffee quality, providing capacity-building opportunities, and developing research-based solutions to address challenges in the coffee value chain.

Director Constantino also toured the Coffee Museum, where she gained insights into the history, culture, and significance of coffee production in Davao del Sur and neighboring areas. The visit further showcased the role of the museum in preserving the region’s coffee heritage while promoting awareness of the industry's contribution to local economic development.

The visit reaffirmed the strong partnership between the Department of Agriculture and Davao del Sur State College in promoting agricultural innovation and strengthening the competitiveness of the region’s coffee industry. It also highlighted the shared commitment of both institutions to supporting farmers, advancing research, and fostering sustainable agricultural development.
